This new idea is so good, you can actually get excited about pouring Petri dishes. We periodically ask labs for their "wish lists" and on more than one occasion, researchers have said, "A good, inexpensive, reliable sterile media dispenser." Most devices on the market are either expensive, unreliable peristaltic pumps, or expensive, unreliable motor-driven, syringe-based pumps. We did these one better with the PourBoy I, and inexpensive teflon lined diaphragm pump that media could flow through, and the Petri Pal pneumatically operated syringe pump. But, all syringe-based systems are a little slow or bubbly, and the PourBoy I has to be chemically sterilized because you can't autoclave a pump, right?
Well, high-tech comes to the rescue with the PourBoy II. We designed a system incorporating the simple, yet elegant, foot pedal controlled electronic dispensing circuitry of the old PourBoy around an inexpensive, detachable, miniature, high-tech electromagnetic pump that is fully autoclavable! Of course you can still sterilize with alcohol, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, or hot water, like the original PourBoy, but now, for extra assurance of sterility, you have the option of autoclaving, as well. Just unplug the pump from the controller base, wrap it (and the input and output tubes, still attached) in aluminum foil, and autoclave.

Never worry about knocking over a rack of tubes and having your precious samples scatter all over the floor. Here is a great and economical way to hold your tubes during an experiment and to store them afterward. Racks are made of die-cut top quality polyester foam, so they are resistant to solvents and last for years. There are four models to choose from, each with a different hole size.
